Follow-up poll after a mini-discussion on the game this morning. How do you feel about the addition of OOC channels for each faction? Should it stay the same or change? What are the benefits and drawbacks? Discuss.

This is actually the first game I have been on that DIDN't have faction/zone/area etc type Channels. I find the faction useful for helping enhance RP, coordinate groups of players, create TPs, and handle the general faction specific fluff talk that really annoys the general player base and sends them FLYING off Public. Another game I am on has probably dozens and dozens of PRIVATE channels and the public channel is still spammy enough to send people flying (in fact they have had to seperate the Public channel into several types) This will likely do more to KEEP people connected on public then the opposite. It will help the covens become more active by given them connections to each other. Just remember it is important to use them as a resource! A resource for communication to enhance your faction, thereby enhancing the game!
I think Every 'faction' in the game should have one with 4 or more players (Cause typing up four or more names everytime you want to multipage is a PITA!
I think the factions channels should be closed to the faction channel, with maybe temp membership to individuals involved in tps with them (Such as Jake with the cullens atm with Bella changing and stuff or Abbey and Aset at Volturi Central perhaps)

My understanding about the need for Channels is faction specific is to unclutter either Public or facillitate large covens in coordinating oocly plots and other such things.
Public is not cluttered with fluff of any sort, ever. There are only two large covens. And one large pack, maybe 2 if you count the CotM.
The channels are public. Noboby is going to feel free enough to air sensitive faction stuff on them. Well, I would, but I don't care, as it's a Consent game, but sometimes I don't want to know what's coming at me and stay IC with it, it's more fun. I don't mind OOC discussing a plot in general, but if it involves me, I like the fun of being IC and not knowing what's going to come my way.
I personally, would rather see channels Zoned to specific areas. With a couple of TP channels for use as needed. Add to that the /possibility/ of some code made publically available to facillitate multipaging (which I've written dozens of times in various forms), if /necessary/. It's really no different than multi-paging just made easier. I page all my sensitive stuff, though it's usually done to one person at a time.

I'm fine with them. Like Bella, this is the first game I've been on that didn't have them. It's a tool to OOCly coordinate, just like a multi-page. I don't have a problem with it.
